Pittsburgh Pirates’ Bae Hwan will face a left-handed starter.
Bae Ji-hwan has been designated to start in center field for Game 7 of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ home opener against the Oakland Athletics on Saturday (June 6) at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He will face left-hander J.P. Sears (3-3, 4.37 ERA).
Pittsburgh’s projected lineup is Andrew McCutchen (designated hitter) Brian Reynolds (left field) Conor Jo (right field) Carlos Santana (first base) Rodolfo Castro (shortstop) Keybrian Hayes (third base) Bae Ji-Hwan (center field) Mark Matz 토토사이트 (second base) and Austin Hedges (catcher).
Pittsburgh’s left-handed hitters were the only ones in the starting lineup. The other eight batters are all batting right-handed.
Bae is batting .326 with a .367 on-base percentage and .348 slugging percentage against lefties this season. That’s actually better than his numbers against righties (0.252/0.308/0.369).
He’s also batting .290 with a .342 on-base percentage against left-handed starters.
Castro will be playing shortstop for the first time in a while. It will be his first start at shortstop since May 7 at home against the Toronto Blue Jays.
“I felt a little bit rushed in the last game at shortstop,” manager Derek Shelton said, adding that he’s worked to correct that. “He’s only 24. Mistakes tend to stick out a little bit. He’s doing a good job in right field and he’s playing good defense at second base,” Shelton said, adding that he sees plenty of potential for him to develop into a starter.
