SSG Landers continued its winning streak, adding several records.

SSG won its seventh game of the season against the Samsung Lions of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League 6-0 at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on Wednesday. It was SSG’s fourth straight win.

SSG ace Kim Kwang-hyun shut down the Samsung bats, while Choo Shin-soo and Choi Jung-hyun hit home runs to knock out Samsung starter Baek Jeon-hyun.

Choo Shin-soo (designated hitter), Choi Ji-hoon (center fielder), Choi Jeong (third baseman), Eredia (left fielder), Park Sung-hyun (shortstop), 토토사이트 Kang Jin-sung (first baseman), Oh Tae-gon (right fielder), Choi Jun-woo (second baseman), and Lee Jae-won (catcher) were in the batting order.

In the top of the first inning, Samsung got off to a good start as Kim Kwang-hyun pitched a scoreless inning, and in the bottom of the inning, Choo Shin-soo gave his team the lead with a solo shot to right field. His fifth home run of the season. Shin-soo Choo’s leadoff home run in the first inning was his third of the season, second of the SSG, 350th of his career, and third of his personal career.

Ji-hoon Choi followed with a single to left and Choi Jung followed with a two-run homer to left-center field. Choi’s 17th home run of the season gave him 3800 career hits. He is the fourth player in KBO history, the youngest (36 years, 4 months, 4 days), and the first right-handed hitter.

The previous records were set by Yang Jun-hyuk on June 25, 2009 (age 40), Lee Seung-yeop on September 14, 2016 (age 40), and Choi Hyung-woo on May 10, 2023 (age 40).

After pitching a scoreless second inning, Kim Kwang-hyun gave up a double to Kang Kang-ul in the top of the third before getting Kim Ho-jae to ground out in front of the first baseman to reach 1,900 career innings. Kim had thrown 1,897⅔ innings until his last start against Lotte on July 17. It is the 10th most in KBO history.

After hitting a two-run homer in his first at-bat, Choi added another in the second inning. Choi’s home run was the ninth of the season, the second of the SSG, the 1155th of his career, and the 25th of his personal record.

Choi now has the second-most pinch-hit home runs of all time behind Lee Seung-yeop (28). Park Byung-ho is third with 24.

SSG’s two-hit veterans helped keep the team on track with meaningful performances.

Kim Kwang-hyun pitched seven scoreless innings to improve to 4-1 on the season. The seven innings were his most this season. The previous record was 6⅓ innings pitched against Hanwha in Munhak last month on September 14. It has also been 279 days since he pitched seven or more innings against Doosan in Munhak last year on September 17 (seven scoreless innings).
