Lee Jin-hyun, from Pohang Steelers Youth (Pohang Jecheol Middle School-Pohang Jecheol High School), stepped on the K-League stage in Pohang in 2018. He joined Daejeon in 2021 after going through Pohang Steelers-Daegu FC. He scored 14 points and 11 assists in 109 K-League matches, and scored 7 points and 8 assists in 51 appearances in Daejeon alone. In particular, last year, Daejeon played an important role in promoting promotion to the first division after 8 years. In the second match of the promotion playoff against Sangmu Kim Cheon, Lee Jin-Hyun scored a fantastic free kick following the first goal to overwhelm the baseline. Daejeon, which dominated the atmosphere with two goals, continued with Kim In-gyun and Kim Seung-seop’s additional goals, ending the K-League 1 promotion with a perfect victory of 4:0.
Lee Jin-hyun has strengths such as agility, mobility, and fast speed, and has excellent kicking power, so it is highly utilized as a dedicated kicker. Above all, he possesses excellent coordination of offense and offense based on his sophisticated passing ability.
Daejeon added weight to the midfield by succeeding in renewing the contract with Lee Jin-hyun, who had obtained FA qualification.
Daejeon, facing a new challenge in the K-League 1 after 8 years, strengthened its front line by recruiting Yoo Kang-hyun and Tiago, who scored first and second in K-League 2 last season. In addition, defenders Oh Jae-seok and Kim Hyun-woo were recruited to reinforce the defensive line, and midfielder Joo Se-jong was fully recruited to build a solid waistline.
Lee Jin-hyun said, “I will do my best to write a drama of joy and emotion with the fans again in the K-League 1 this year, following the impression of last year’s promotion.”
