Han Ji-eun (Eswai), the No. 1 ranked women’s 3-cushion amateur, recorded her first professional win.
In the LPBA First Qualifying Round (PPQ) of the Silk Road & Ansan PBA-LPBA Championship, the second tour of the professional billiards 2023-24 season, held at Ansan Sangryoksu Gymnasium in Gyeonggi Province, Korea, on February 2, Han defeated Song Min-ji 24-18 (27 games) to advance to the Second Qualifying Round (PQ).
After losing her first match of the season 토토사이트 opener (Blue One Resort Championship) last month by a high-scoring margin and being eliminated early, Han rebounded with a victory in her first match of the tour, marking her first professional win in two tournaments.
After rallying from a 10-11 deficit in the 16th game to take a 15-12 lead with five high run points, Han gradually racked up the points, scoring 24 points in 50 minutes to close out the match with a 24-18 (27 games) victory. With her first professional win, Han will next face Heo Ji-yeon in the second round of qualifying (PQ) at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
“Super Rookie” Jang Ga-yeon (Huon’s), who made her debut with a quarterfinal appearance in the opening round, also breezed through her first round. Playing her first game of the tournament against Park Choowon, Jang dominated the entire match, including four high-scoring runs in 26 innings to secure a 20-15 victory. Jang will face Ryu Se-jung in the second qualifying round (PQ) at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Elsewhere in the LPBA First Qualifier (PPQ), Kim Jung-mi scored 25 runs in 22 innings against Choi Ji-young to finish first overall with an average of 1.136.
On the second day of the tournament, the LPBA Second Qualifying (PQ) round and the Round of 64 will take place. The second round of PQs will begin at 11 a.m. with four rounds, followed by the Round of 64 at 3:50 p.m., also split into four rounds. The Round of 64 will feature players seeded in the top 32 of the last 10 tournaments, including “Cambodian Express” Surong Pheavy (Blue One Resort), “Billiard Queen” Kim Ga-young (Hana Card), “Original Queen” Lim Jung-sook (Crown Hae-tae), and “Opening Day Queen” Kim Min-ah (NH Card).
