NC Dinos pitcher Bae Min-seo and infielder Choi Jeong-won shared their thoughts on their return to the program after graduating from Sangsang on April 12.

Bae, who joined NC in 2019 after graduating from Sangwon High School, made 49 appearances on the mound for the first team, posting a 1-0 스포츠토토 record and a 5.56 ERA. In 16 appearances for the Futures this season, he went 4-1 with a 1.88 ERA.

Bae said, “I’m happy to be discharged from the Armed Forces Athletic Corps. It’s good to be discharged, but I’m most happy to go back to my team, NC,” he said.

“During my service, I learned a lot from Coach Park Chi-wang and the coaching staff, and I saw the good routines of my teammates in the military. I leave the military with a lot of experience on the mound and a sense of responsibility that I learned as a soldier.”

Bae Min-seo added, “Now that I’m back with the team, all I can do is try to help the team win. I think I can help the team in any role as a side pitcher. I would also like to thank the many fans who supported me during my military service.”

Choi, a fifth-year infielder, appeared in 121 games in his first-team career, batting 2-for-8 with 71 hits, 10 doubles, 58 runs scored and 14 stolen bases. He also recorded his first double-digit stolen base in 2021. He finished the season batting a solid 2-for-6 with 21 hits, 10 RBI, 14 runs scored and five stolen bases in the Futures League.

“It’s a strange feeling to finish my duty of defense. I enlisted in the Armed Forces Athletic Corps, but before that, I did my best to understand the role of national defense as a soldier protecting the country. I thought a lot during my military career, and I think those thoughts can be a great asset as a professional baseball player and a member of society.” Choi Jung-won said.

“Thanks to Coach Park Chi-wang, the coaching staff, and my teammates, I am leaving the military having gained a lot of experience that I was aiming for when I joined the Armed Forces. I played as an infielder before joining the army, but I played a lot of games in the outfield during my time in the Armed Forces Athletic Corps. I think this helped me personally a lot,” he added.

Finally, Choi Jung-won said, “When I return to the team, I want to help in various areas such as offense, defense, and baserunning. I am excited to meet the fans who supported me at Changwon NC Park before I enlisted. I hope to prepare well and meet many fans at Changwon NC Park.”
